This week’s Fun Monday is hosted by Faye.  Here is her assignment.

I’m your holiday host for Fun Monday, December 21. Your assignment, should you decide to play, is to share some of your favorite holiday mail that you’ve received this year. Possible categories:

Best All Around Card
Most Meaningful Message
Best Kid/Pet Holiday Photo
Best Family Newsletter
Most Humorous Card

This is a fun topic but I am going to break the rules a little, please forgive me Faye. We have received beautiful cards but we have not come around to sending out any yet, maybe we will make it a ‘Happy New Year’ card. I received a gift that I thought was so beautiful and meaningful. It is a beautiful kitchen apron.  The reason why I love it is because, she made it herself, it’s beautiful and I needed an apron.  She added an attachment to them that you can use as pockets or pot holders.  I just love it. I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas season, Jesus is the reason for the season. Merry Christmas!
Head over to Faye’s and enjoy.

I was in Target the other day, had a Target card and was looking for stuff to buy for myself and so I decided to by one of Jillian’s DVDs.  It’s called 30 Day Shred.  It’s an old DVD, as in, she has had others after that, this was one was on sale.  It is killing me!  It is a 3-2-1 system, 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of Cardio and 1 minute of Abs, for a 3 circuits.  It does go fast and by the time you are done, you are sweating away.  I have missed one or two days already but I am going to try and do it to the end of the month.  Anyone use this DVD before?

Today’s Fun Monday is hosted by Ari_1965. I liked her assignment. Here it goes.

My question is: What is the oldest possession in your house or flat? Describe it or show us a picture. Where did it come from? Why do you hang on to it?

Well, we moved into our house the week of Thanksgiving 5 years ago. Basically, everything in the house is the same ‘age’. But, since we (Rehema was in the tummy) came into the house, before any of our wordly possessions came, my answer would be:
olde tyme4
Head over to Ari_1965 and see what people are holding on to.   Have a Fun Monday!

My Day

I volunteered to host Fun Monday and here is the topic I chose.
Your Day: please describe to us your typical weekday, from when you wake up until when you go to bed, what do you do to get you up and going, how do you wind down in the evening and what happens in your life in between those times. For some of us, the drama is in the mornings and evenings and for others, it is during the day.

My weekdays are typically the same.  My alarm clock is set up for 5am, that does not mean I wake up at that time, but I try to.  I then make a quick visit to facebook and start on my assignments or papers.  I think Facebook gets me going, I check on how my siblings are doing and then head to my assignments.  We have assignments due every week.  Twice a week I go to the gym for a 2 mile run.  I start getting ready for work at about 6.30 am, if one of the kids decides to wake up that early, I take them with me to drop them off at around 7.30 am. I work as an administrative assistant for two managers, so it’s never really the same everyday, basically, I just make sure they are well updated and anything they need done, is done.  Leave work at 4.30pm, pick up one child and then my day and ALL the drama really begins.   The most stressful time is between when I get home from work and when we eat dinner.  I cook dinner, give the kids a bath, we all eat dinner, clean up and sit to watch TV, read a few books and start convincing the kids that they need to go to bed, put out their clothes for tomorrow and anything the teachers asked for.  At around 10pm, things start slowing down, I make my cup of cadbury cocoa and then call it a night.  If it’s a Sunday like today, I sleep way later if I have not finished an assignment.  Wake up the next day and start it all over again…

Thanks for playing,  Here are the brave ones, please visit them and see how their typical day is:

I am hosting Fun Monday on 9th November and thought I would continue in the spirit of getting to know one another :-)
This topic might have been done before, but things change, people move so I am sure things have probably changed since you last did it.

Your Day: please describe to us your typical weekday, from when you wake up until when you go to bed, what do you do to get you up and going, how do you wind down in the evening and what happens in your life in between those times. For some of us, the drama is in the mornings and evenings and for others, it is during the day. Thanks for playing, please leave your name and URL in the comments and I will add them on Sunday.

Fun Monday – Who am I?

Today’s Fun Monday is hosted by the fashionably sensitive …but too coo l to care Mariposa.  Here is her assignment.
(1) Share something which you wish your readers would know about you. It could be something you feel you might need to clarify/ share, etc.

People ask me some questions in a weird way that at times make me wonder so here is my chance to clarify.  I graduated college in 1994 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a minor in Music.  I got married is 2000, in 2002, we won a Green Card through the DV program and moved here.  I am currently doing my Master’s in Health Promotion through this university and I am loving it.

(2) Ask three questions to your readers, and I mean all readers, whether participants of Fun Monday or not. The questions should be generic so that all your readers can answer them and that it will help you get to know your readers more.
My questions are easy and cheesy :-)
What is your favorite hot or cold cereal or both?
Raisin Bran cereal and plain oatmeal.
What is your favorite color and why?
My favorite color is red because it is a bold color.
Which country would you like to visit if you had the opportunity?
Australia, I have always dreamed of going to Australia and India comes a close second.

Head over to Mariposa’s Tales and get to know your fun monday buddies.

Budget

It’s about time I made a budget.  I have operated for 9 years without a budget and that is not good.  I bet I am throwing away some monies.  Good thing is that, apart from my baby’s hospital bill, the only debt we have ever had is our mortgage so I think we are doing okay, but I would like to do better.  I do carry shopping lists to the grocery store and stick to it most of the time, but that’s about it.  I want to sit down and write a budget for the month of November.  I guess it will help if I start with that elusive menu.
